Dear Natural Resources Commission:

The board of the Grand Traverse Audubon Club supports the position of the Michigan Audubon Society regarding the changes in Amendment # 3 of 2008 to the Wildlife Conservation Order as presented by the Department of Natural Resources.

We feel that anytime a restricted use pesticide is used to control feral pigeons there is a risk of direct ingestion by peregrine falcons and other birds of prey. By requiring applicators to apply for a permit, we trust the MDNR will perform due diligence in making sure that no peregrine falcons or other raptors nest or reside in the area being treated.

Sincerely,
